Q?
I need a portable data logger for measuring very different kinds of electrical loads. Can I use the same instrument for all?
-
A.
If you are measuring single & three-phase loads between 2 Amps and 2000 Amps the SPC Pro 2 is all you need. It is fully auto-ranging and offers excellent accuracy over the stated range.
-
Q?
Is electricity measurement with your data loggers completely safe?
-
A.
We've made it as safe as possible, and certainly within the remit of non-qualified personnel in many situations. The SPC Pro 2 does not require any voltage connections other than a single wall socket - even for three-phase supplies.
-
Q?
I’m having problems with a supply – can your data loggers pinpoint the issue?
-
A.
The SPC Loggers are designed for energy and carbon management, but Elcomponent has the solutions available for power quality and disturbance analysis. LEARN MORE

Q?
I need to measure multiple electrical loads at the same time. Is there a multi-channel energy logger available?
-
A.
Not as far as we know, but the SPC Pro 2 is a low-cost item so even if you need several of them, costs are still reasonable.
-
Q?
I only need a logger for a short period. Are your loggers available for hire?
-
A.
The loggers can be hired directly for us, and as you might expect from a market leading range, all the specialist instrument hire companies offer Elcomponent instruments.
-
Q?
My survey results are showing as 30 minute values but I set the logger to a much shorter interval – how do I view my results in fine detail?
-
A.
PowerPackPro will always display energy (kWh and kVArh) figures as 30 minute integrated values in line with UK norms, but offers the option to ‘Show All’ measurement points for parameters such as current (amps) and voltage.
-
Q?
I want to share my survey data with a colleague – what’s the easiest way to do this?
-
A.
The SPC Logger software 'PowerPackPro' makes this very simple if you use MS Outlook as your email client... just click the 'Outlook' icon on the toolbar and PPP will automatically open an email window with a copy of your survey chart and the relevant survey field attached. It even includes a link to the download area on this website so the recipient can get their own copy of PPP to fully interrogate your survey data. If you don’t use Outlook, simply click on the ‘Find Survey’ button at the top right of your survey list to jump straight to the file location.

How do I find my survey files on my PC?
